My favourite design and the one I think works best is the smaller font size in the centre of the page, as you initially see the title and instantly know what it is and for. 

Evaluation of Betty Brown.

I initially created a brief such as Betty Brown to be able to create a brand and packaging designs for a cafe. However as I progressed through the brief I found that this was not really the design aspect I wanted to be in, and it also was not benefitting me nor was I able to create designs of which I had intended to through my final year. Therefore I decided to stop this brief and to swap my other main brief over the the DJ Branding which was much more exciting and I thought that I would be able to do a lot more with this brief and create things and do things I had intended; such as laser cutting and processes. I am glad that I stopped this brief when I did as it allowed me to concentrate more on other briefs and making those other briefs better as I had more time on them.

I have also learnt through this brief that I am not really into designing for such places as cafes and what I would call 'pretty' graphics where everything is made to look sweet and create a girly exterior. On the other hand I did create a logo eventually for this brief that I actually do like.

Three of the final designs for the posters. I have created one poster per month containing each date within that month.

I am really happy with these designs, as they look good and not too crowded even though there was alot of information to go on them.

More layouts..

I added the initial design layout to the background photograph, and I then tried more layouts incorporating the type and photograph

Over all these background designs, the only poster which I don't think will work at all is the city background, there is just too much going on in the photograph for the type to stand out.

All posters still need a lot more work, however you can see what I am trying to do and produce..


I think on this poster the smaller type looks good and stands out nicely, however the 'Saturday Session' doesn't stand out at all. Maybe I could try putting the saturday sessions at the bottom of the poster and the type at the top?

 I really like this poster! I think it works really well on the space background as the design and layout stands out and also the hierarchy of the design works too.

I am unsure about this one as it is quite a summery poster.. and the events are in autumn/ winter so it gives off the wrong vibe.
















I really like this design, although I do want to play around with it more and make it relate more to the background maybe have the type and layout relating and integrating with the photograph.

 

I don't think this poster works at all.. Due to the fact that there is alot going on in the photograph and a lot of different colours and distractions the type in lost in the image. The type doesn't stand out at all which is not good at all.

Layout ideas for posters..

With the posters for ministry of sound there is a lot of type and information that has to be put on these posters, which also needs to be legible and clear but look good.

I think this is my favourite layout as I think although there is a lot of information to be put on the poster it doesnt look crowded..

However I do need to add the Ministry of Sound logo and also fill in the proper dates and DJs.
