Dj branding nearly finished..

I am just waiting for monday to come around so I can lasercut my design for the CD packaging..

Open publication - Free publishing - More layout

I really like the white type on the photograph.. Yet I want to experiment more with the layout and work out how actually all the information will fit on the poster.
I like these edits!!

I think these would look good with white type on top, but I would want then to be portrait.

Editing the photographs to see if they would look better with a different tint or colour etc..

Another Idea..

I have just thought about using photographs of huge global landscapes and using extreme pictures to emphasise the big brand Ministry of Sound and their big plans for a night out.

Colour Ideas..

Ministry of sound provided us with their colour palette:

I am really not sure about colour on this poster as I do want it to stand out however I think a block colour background won't really be easy to read or be wanted to be read.

However I do like the idea of monotone with one bright colour

 Colour tests..

Not really a fan of any of these! I am not sure that one colour will work or a block of colour.

Saturday Sessions..

I quite like the saturday sessions yet I want to see it in context see if it will stand out enough on a poster..

I do like the saturday sessions with the pattern behind it really fine as it still stands out..
Digitalising my typeface..

Live trace just completely changed the type so when going over it manually I am more happy but I want to see what it looks like in the phrase.

What I think I will use the typeface for is the sub heading: Saturday Sessions
I quite like this font and I am happy it will represent the idea I am going for Ministry of Sound and doing things a little different..

I do not want to do the stereotypical poster for a nightclub bright and in your face I want it to be kind of meaningful.

More development of a typeface..

Developing my ideas and carrying on going led me to a whole new idea of using line to create the type face!

This visually looks like the star constellations yet relates to destinations of places and the maping i began doing.. I really like this idea yet I am not sure about using a really light font.

I didn't like the top design for the typeface as I thought it didn't look very modern nor would it stand out on a poster so I decided to add a thinker line.. Then I decided to change it up a bit

And use the thick pen for curves and sticking to the theme having the thin line in straight lines relating back to the map idea.

In my opinion the uppercase typeface looks best, and will stand out more and also have more of an impact on a poster.
Developing my ideas for Ministry of Sound..

I chose this brief as I think it will allow me to experiment more with type and print.. So therefore I am looking to create a typeface which will not only fit the brief nicely but I will also like..

Open publication - Free publishing - More graphic design

I want to develop the idea of global and make everything seem big! So therefore I have developed the idea of maping and the info graphics and I am trying to apply this to a typeface..
Initial Ideas for Ministry of Sound Brief..

I thought about some themes to base my posters around..
-Nightlife
- Autumn (with it being in those months)
- Global - said in the brief
- Colour
- Sound

The one which got me thinking most was Global. And I researched into where Ministry of Sound was based.. And gave me the idea of doing a sort of info graphic design
Wrapping for CD..

I decided that I want to create an outer design for the CD to wrap around the package.. So i printed onto acetate, however I am not sure about this as I might laser cut some plastic to create the cd package which wouldn't need a wrapping.
I have added the sticker design to the envelopes as to be able to have the CDs sent out to people.

I also now need to make the actual design for the CD packaging.

With this logo I then came up with more various different ideas, of how as a shortened version you can just use the A from the logo then using the logo you can create the button/tag/ leather patch design.

I thought this would look good as maybe a square button? Also this could then be used for the leather patch. The design came from the elements in the periodic table and I think this could be really effective. It could also be used for the tags and have the size in the top corner where the atomic number would go.

Type ideas for Waven I want to make it quite modern and have that swedish influence. I don't really want the font to be too thin as it wont stand out and against jeans and other brands of jean it needs to be quite bold and modern I think.

Although I do like this design below I dont think it works. It needs something more than just the squre from the element within the periodic table

I think this design below is a bit big.. I dont think that this would be adaptable to be able to apply this on various media. Also the type does look abit squashed together.

I really like this design below!!
I re-thought the idea and there are 2 vowels, so using these I duplicated the vowels to make 2 of each letter then fused them together! Which not only fits in with the concept but also I believe it is the best logo I have come up with..

My favourite and strongest idea in my opinion was the fusion of two cultures..
Using this concept of fusion I could link it to chemistry and science.
The periodic table was my first target, using this as a categorisation stategy for the jeans. You can use the different sections within the periodic table as different styles of jeans.
Also the elements within the table can be used for such things as sizes or styles as in skinny, straight, boyfriend etc.

The O's within the table can be changed to the swedish A to create a visual identity and sort of motif for the company.

The table itself could be used as a visual and intertwined into the brand and concept, maybe as the background for the type.
