CD & Business Cards.. 

I want to keep everything in theme, and therefore I have chosen from designs the black CD then I am going to foil block the business cards in black to give them a shine and make them more interesting to pick up and look at over other designs of business cards.

Packaging for the CD

I wanted a sleek packaging which would intrigue people and also look highly proffessional.

Alongside the ideas for the packaging I decided that I wanted to use the lasercutter and test things out on there, so this persuaded me to experiment with the black plastic as I thought this would look really cool.

I really really like the packaging! 

I decided to engrave the  logo into the CD packaging and I think this is very effective. 

However I foolishly did not add felt in the inside of the packaging so the CD is not as protected as it would/should be. Therefore this is something that if I was to do it again I would make it much more secure. 

The business cards.. 

I really like this idea of the pattern staying in the same place on the front and back of the cards and then the details along the top. I think I will foil block these to give them a shine as I think this will then fit in best with the letterhead and design I am going for. 

Foil blocking the back corner..

I have foil blocked the back corner to add more interest and value to the letterhead. I really like how it has turned out as it is different and could attract people to it.

I am just waiting for monday to come around so I can lasercut my design for the CD packaging..

Wrapping for CD..

I decided that I want to create an outer design for the CD to wrap around the package.. So i printed onto acetate, however I am not sure about this as I might laser cut some plastic to create the cd package which wouldn't need a wrapping.

I have added the sticker design to the envelopes as to be able to have the CDs sent out to people.

I also now need to make the actual design for the CD packaging.

To go with the theme of the DJ branding, I found some black envelopes for the DJ to put his CDs in to send out to clubs etc.. 

So I now want to create some outside design to go on to the envelopes to send. 

I think a pretty sleek simplistic design would look good on the black envelope just to write the address of a club on, with a thick black sharpie.. 

 Without the black line is better.. 

CD wrapping..

I am designing the CD the package and I also want to make a wrap which will go around the CD casing then into the envelope..

I tried the different patterns that I made before but overall I think that the type works best and I think this will look pretty sweet on a see through stock.

For the DJ brief I want to include a pattern although I do have the shapes from the name I have taken the ideas of patterns on as a sort of theme which I want to put onto other things such as the posters etc. 

CD IDEA!

An idea for the CD is to create a design on the CD and then use a clear packaging, yet design a label for the CD. This way the design can be stuck onto any CDs that he may want to stick it on to. 

I think this image is going to be best to use for posters if I do use them as it for one doesn't have the logo of his tshirt on and also has alot of space to be able to add design and type too. I also want to play around with the shape of the poster as I don't really want it to be a standard shape.

I did a photoshoot for the DJ and these are the best 3 images of which could be used on posters. I am not sure as yet if I want to use photos for the posters but this is another option.

Designing the layout for the letterhead..  I want it to be simplistic and modern yet still understandable and reads in the correct order, and also holds all information needed on a letterhead.

I want to create a design for the Cd as he does give out CDs and sends them out to venues, and for this I would like to use the design with it around the edge, as then this gives me the opportunity to make some nice outer packaging

Final designs for business card.

I have made the back shapes be a mirror of the front. And I also want to foil block the black on the front in black to give it a shine.

Overall I really like them and so does the client, as he was happy for me to be experimental. 

Back of the business cards.

I want to create something quite bold as it is for a DJ. After the front it quite plain I want to add something to the back however still has to fit in with the simplistic front..

From these designs I really like the black with the white type, although it is simple it is still bold by having a black background.

I also like the motif in the corner as then this can be used on promo things. I am really happy with it and he also likes it!!

I think my favourite is with the type central and slightly smaller, as then I think I will foil block this and make it look high quality and have the design/pattern from the shapes on the back!
